Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

Lawson & Cooper Arms LLC ("we," "us," or "our") operates lawsoncooperarms.com. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it. By using our site or our services, you agree to the practices described here.

Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly, including when you register on our site, place an order, subscribe to our newsletter, fill out a contact or enquiry form, or schedule a service such as fingerprinting or NFA trust preparation. Depending on the service, this may include your name, email address, mailing address, phone number, and payment information. You may browse our site without providing any personal information.

Fingerprint and Biometric Data

As part of our Live Scan fingerprinting and EFT file services, we collect biometric identifiers, specifically your fingerprints, along with a passport-style photo where applicable. We collect this information only with your consent, and only for the purpose of completing ATF eForm submissions, NFA trust applications, employment or licensing background checks, and related federal filings that you request.

If you decline to provide your fingerprints, we will not be able to complete the ATF form or related filing you've requested, since federal law requires this information as part of the application.

We do not sell, license, or share your biometric data for any commercial purpose. Once collected, your fingerprint file is retained on file indefinitely so that it remains available for any future NFA filing, transfer, or background check you ask us to assist with, without needing to be recaptured. You may request deletion of your data on file at any time by emailing us at info@lawsoncooperarms.com, subject to any record-keeping obligations we have under federal firearms or ATF regulations.

Firearms Transaction & Background Check Data

As a licensed FFL dealer, we are required by federal law to collect certain information in connection with firearm sales, transfers, and NFA filings, including information provided on ATF Form 4473, NICS background check results, and related NFA paperwork (including Form 1, Form 4, and trust documentation). This information is retained and disclosed only as required by federal law and ATF regulations, and is not used for marketing purposes.

How We Use Your Information

Information we collect may be used to:

  1. Process orders, appointments, and service requests
  2. Complete ATF eForm, NICS, and NFA trust filings you request
  3. Respond to customer service inquiries and support needs
  4. Send order-related updates and, if you opt in, occasional emails about new inventory or services
  5. Improve our website and the services we offer

We do not sell, exchange, or transfer your personal information to any other company for any reason, other than as needed to deliver a service you've requested, or as required by law.

Email Communications

If you sign up for our newsletter, you'll receive occasional updates about inventory, services, and news. Every email includes clear unsubscribe instructions, and you can opt out at any time.

How We Protect Your Information

We use a secure server and encrypt sensitive information, including payment data, using SSL technology. Access to sensitive customer information, including biometric data, is limited to those who need it to complete your order or service request.

Cookies

Our site uses cookies to remember items in your shopping cart and to understand site traffic so we can improve the site over time. You can set your browser to reject cookies, though some site features may not work properly if you do.

Third Parties

We work with trusted third parties to help operate parts of our business, including payment processing and NFA trust preparation (10scan and National Gun Trusts). These parties only receive the information necessary to provide their part of the service and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes. We do not otherwise share your personally identifiable information with outside parties, except where required by law or to protect our rights or the rights of others.

Our site may occasionally link to third-party sites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites.

Your Rights Under Alabama and Other State Law

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information, and to withdraw consent for the processing of sensitive information such as biometric data. If you withdraw consent for previously collected fingerprint data, we will delete it upon request, but note this may affect our ability to assist with any future or in-progress ATF filing that relies on that data. To make a request, email us at info@lawsoncooperarms.com.

Children's Privacy

Our site and services are directed to individuals 13 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date.
